The construction of a new logistics platform for international transport and warehousing company XPO Logistics was completed in 2019 in Marchamalo, Guadalajara, about 70 km north of Madrid. The platform centralizes e-commerce orders for a multinational clothing retailer.

The roof of the facilities, which totaled about 100,000 m², was waterproofed with Elevate’s UltraPlyTPO thermoplastic roofing membrane. One of the requirements was that the roofing membrane hadto have a Solar Reflectance Index (SRI) over 85. The SRI measures the ability of a material to reflectthe sun's energy back into the atmosphere. Another key aspect was that the roofing material had tobe FM-certified. The white UltraPly TPO membrane chosen for this project easily fulfilled bothrequirements.
Spanish Master Contractor Tecnydeck carried out the installation in 6 months. A layer of 50 mm thickPIR insulation panels was placed over the building’s corrugated steel roof deck, followed by theUltraPly TPO membrane, which was mechanically attached on top of the insulation.
