22-year-old RubberGard EPDM project in the south of France as good as new

One of the first projects in France where Elevate’s RubberGard EPDM roofing system was used took place in 1998, on the roof of an industrial building in Montauban, in the southwest of France. In 2011, the building was bought by tire company Doumerc Pneus International.

"About 11,000 m² of RubberGard EPDM membrane were installed 22 years ago and to date there has been no change in appearance in the main part," explains Patrick Doumerc, director of Doumerc Pneus International. "The waterproofing is almost like new, even after a violent hailstorm that hit the region in 2015. While we had to replace the 99 skylights that were damaged during this storm, the roofing membrane remained intact, without any marks or leaks! Also, despite the intense summer heat that we know in the southwest of France, especially in recent years, the roofing membrane has remained flexible, without any damage or cracking. A local Firestone authorized roofing contractor has recently repaired a few patches at the corners of the skylights, which is small normal maintenance work after more than two decades of service," adds Mr Doumerc.

Resilient, durable and versatile, RubberGard EPDM is ready to meet the challenges of today, and those of the future.
